The Attunement
Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught. It is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an attunement process. This process opens the crown, heart, and palm chakras and creates a special link between the student and the Reiki source.
The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience. The attunement energies are channeled into the student through the Reiki Master. The process is guided by the Rei or God-consciousness and makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of each student. The attunement is also attended by Reiki guides and other spiritual beings who help implement the process. Many report having mystical experiences involving personal messages, healings, visions, and past life experiences.
The attunement can also increase psychic sensitivity. Students often report experiences involving: opening of the third eye, increased intuitive awareness, and other psychic abilities after receiving a Reiki attunement.
Once you have received a Reiki attunement, you will have Reiki for the remainder of your life. It does not wear off and you can never lose it. While one attunement is all you need for each level to be attuned to that level, additional attunements bring benefit. Experimentation has found that additional attunements of the same level add to the value of that level. These benefits include refinement of the Reiki energy one is channeling, increased strength of the energy, healing of personal problems, clarity of mind, increased psychic sensitivity, and a raised level of consciousness. At the Reiki support groups sponsored by the Center, additional attunements are usually given by someone who has taken Third degree Reiki, with no extra fee required.
The Reiki attunement can start a cleansing process that affects the physical body as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with feelings and thought patterns that are no longer useful. Therefore, a process of purification prior to the attunement is recommended to improve the benefit one receives. See below for specific instructions on preparing for an attunement.
Reiki Degrees
Reiki First Degree:-
The first degree opens the energy channel and permits the student to channel Reiki mainly at the physical level, both for himself and for others. It consists of one initiation in the Usui Tibetan system. After the initiation, the student may note a subtle energy flowing through his hands. This can be perceived in various ways, including heat, coolness, tickling, buzzing, or just a strange feeling in the hands. Sometimes it takes a period of time after the initiation before the student feels the energy.
This level is open to anyone. No previous experience or preparation is required. It is usually taught in one weekend. The initiation connects the student’s energy system to the Universal Energy. Energy blockages are released, balancing and harmonising the major energy centres known as chakras. The initiation opens the central energy channel leading from the crown of the head to the bottom of the spine. It connects the student to the Universal Energy permanently, allowing him to channel the energy whenever he wishes.
At first, the amount of energy channelled after the initiation can vary considerably, but the more the student uses Reiki, the more constant the energy becomes. In this level, the energy is 80-90% on the physical level. The remainder being on the mental/emotional and spiritual levels.
Details of first Degree course
The Reiki 1 courses is one day program. (4 hours)
The course starts with the theory and the initiation:

2. History of reiki.
3. Explanation about seven bodies.
4. Explanation about seven chakras.
5. Attunement.
6. Treatment through reiki.
- Self reiki
- Partner reiki
7. Five principles of reiki.
8. Short treatment of reiki.
-To get energy
- For memory, concentration and awareness
- To balance the emotions.
9. Group reiki
10. Psychology of Body.
11. Treatment with reiki in different disease.
12. How to give reiki to plants, animals, insects, birds, house, relationship and non living things.
13.We teach how to give distance Reiki to the person, intention, situation.. Eg. In exam, for marriage purpose, Good job, relationship, money, to buy or sell land, house, office, to release stress, for health, to heal past of anybody and for bright future.
You should take things easy on the evening following the intiation and avoid alcohol and any recreational drugs as you may be more susceptible to their effects. Be good to yourself.
The students can ask questions about anything covered on the day of the course, the contents of the manual or any other relevant matter.
We will also go over the hand positions for a self treatment.
The price of the course is $ 101 including first degree certificate.
After the course, the reiki channel shall attend the Reiki exchange at Happiness Yoga Studio, Lorton. Reiki teacher shall be present, and each student shall give and receive Reiki and can ask any questions.
